For children with cancer, Christmas should be about waking up in their own bed, opening presents, watching films on the sofa and spending precious time with the people they love. But treatment can mean long days and nights away from home.
This Christmas, we’re asking for your help to change that.

Children still need to come to Addenbrooke’s for their chemotherapy, but afterwards they may need fluids that can mean staying overnight in hospital. A special cancer care backpack contains fluid bags and a portable pump, allowing these post-treatment fluids to be given at home. Parents or guardians can be trained to use the backpack, with specialist nurse support.
It’s a relatively simple idea that could make a huge difference, giving children more time away from the hospital and more precious moments at home with their family.
With your support this Christmas, we can help make home possible for more children receiving cancer treatment at Addenbrooke’s.
